Description

This is an acoustic jazz album featuring piano, bass and drum. The material comprises standards supplemented by a blues or two. Careful attention has been paid to mixing and to sound quality but there has been no electronic intervention to shift, alter or otherwise tamper with the notes played. The entire album was recorded in a single day (not counting a half day spent setting up recording equipment). This intense schedule is reminiscent of that observed by jazz musicians who recorded for Blue Note in the 1960s. It worked for them, and it works here. Swinging grooves, funky bass lines, tasty solos, no second thoughts – what more do you need?
